The NATP Blog<\/strong> exists to explore that marketplace from a perspective that is too often missing from the broader conversation: the people who participate in professional ticket resale every day.<\/p>

NATP traces its roots to 1994, when professional ticket resellers came together to establish standards for their industry and stronger protections for the customers they served. Today, the association represents professional participants in a ticketing industry that has changed dramatically since then.<\/p>

That history gives NATP and its members a unique vantage point.<\/p>

Professional resellers see the marketplace in motion. They experience changes in demand, pricing, ticket availability, technology, transfer policies and consumer behavior firsthand. They also see the practical consequences when new regulations or industry policies are implemented.<\/p>

NATP starts with a straightforward principle: fans should have choices.<\/strong><\/p>

That includes the ability of ticket owners to decide what happens to tickets they have purchased\u2014including the ability to transfer, give away or resell them. We believe competition and an open secondary marketplace can expand those choices and provide fans with additional ways to access the live events they want to attend.<\/p>

But a functioning marketplace also requires accountability.<\/p>

Professionalism, transparency and meaningful consumer protections matter. NATP members operate under an established Code of Ethics, and the association maintains standards and procedures intended to hold its members accountable to the customers they serve.<\/p>

Those ideas aren’t mutually exclusive. Consumer protection and a competitive resale marketplace can\u2014and should\u2014exist together.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
